The truth about collar safety. This is arguably one of the most important conversations for all dog owners. Lynette Smith is doing all she can to help keep your dog safe and happy. Her mission is one of urgency and the Ryder Safe Foundation is doing all they must to save as many dogs as possible from collar strangulation. This is real and incredibly prevalent issue and one that does not get spoken about enough.
Ryder Safe background: On October 24, 2018, our beloved 4-year old chocolate labrador, Ryder Jackson, was strangled to death from his collar while playing with his best friend Skyrah. We were totally in shock the day this happened, we never knew this was something "could" happen. We never knew how dangerous dog collars were, until that fateful day. Dog collars create a lot of dangers both in and outside of the home. After his loss, I wanted to make a difference for others....by educating them about the dangers of dog collars and how to use them properly in an effort to prevent collar strangulation. I'm also trying to get laws in place that will require companies to provide warning labels on all dog collar products.
